OFFENSIVE WEAPONS: Private hire driver arrested after police find baton and knuckle duster in car

A private hire driver was arrested after police officers found TWO offensive weapons concealed in their vehicle.
The 45-year-old minicab driver licensed by Sefton Council was pulled over by police yesterday for routine checks.

As part of the the operation, Merseyside officers located a black baton in the door of the silver Volkswagen Passat and also found a knuckle duster after a full search was completed.
The driver was arrested.
Sefton Police said: “Operation Pelican have this evening arrested a 45-year-old male for possession of an offensive weapon x2.
“Officers have carried out checks on a private hire vehicle, whilst speaking with the driver Officers have noticed a baton in the door of the vehicle. A full search has then been completed and a knuckle duster has also been recovered.
“The male was arrested and remains in custody awaiting questioning.”
