Taxi and private hire vehicle (PHV) drivers have been handed penalty charge notices (PCNs) for parking on pavements as part of ongoing enforcement operations.

In two images shared by officers, it showed a black cab displaying a yellow PCN on its windscreen and a PHV mounting the curb onto the pavement.

The enforcement campaign, conducted by Liverpool City Council Licensing in collaboration with local police, targets licensed vehicles that obstruct pavements and potentially damage them.

The initiative forms part of broader efforts to maintain clear and safe pedestrian access in the city centre.

A Liverpool City Council Licensing spokesperson said: “Drivers of licensed vehicles that park on the pavement causing an obstruction and potentially causing damage to the pavement have had action taken against them this evening by LCC Licensing and Police Officers.

“This is part of an ongoing operation within the city centre.”
