Updated: Sep 19, 2024

Emergency services were called to Norris Green this morning after a crash involving a Hackney cab and a Volkswagen left one person trapped inside the taxi.

The incident occurred at the junction of Parthenon Drive and Utting Avenue around 9am.

Merseyside Fire and Rescue confirmed that two of the three people in the taxi had managed to exit the vehicle before crews arrived. However, one individual remained trapped. Despite this, the person was reported to be conscious at the scene.

Firefighters worked alongside paramedics to safely remove the trapped passenger following a medical assessment. The individual, along with another passenger from the taxi, was taken to hospital for further assessment.

The extent of their injuries remains unclear.
