PHV collision in Blackburn leaves pedestrian in hospital with ‘serious injuries’



Police in Blackburn have appealed for help following an incident involving a private hire vehicle (PHV) which has left a pedestrian with ‘serious injuries’.


Police were called to Blackburn town centre on Saturday morning after receiving reports of a collision between a PHV and pedestrian.

The pedestrian was rushed to hospital in an ambulance and is being treated for serious injuries sustained.


A Lancashire Constabulary spokesperson said: “We are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after a serious road traffic collision in Blackburn town centre in the early hours of this morning (November 19).

“A private hire taxi was in collision with a pedestrian on Montague Street at its junction with King Street, at 12.20am.


“The pedestrian was taken to hospital by the North West Ambulance Service and is being treated for serious injuries.

“If you saw the collision or were in the area at that time and have dashcam footage from your vehicle, please contact 101 or email 6170@lancashire.police.uk – quoting log 0024 of November 19, 2022.”
