Police are investigating a series of rural burglaries in the north Cotswolds and are appealing for help tracing a white car, possibly a taxi, seen at multiple crime scenes.
Gloucestershire Constabulary confirmed two properties in Church Westcote near Stow-on-the-Wold were burgled overnight from Wednesday 2 July into Thursday 3 July.
In both cases, garages were targeted and offenders attempted to steal tools. A witness saw suspects fleeing in a white Ford, likely a Fiesta, fitted with a roof-mounted taxi sign.
Officers believe the vehicle may also be linked to previous burglaries in the area.
In mid-June, tools and materials were stolen from a construction site in Todenham, near Moreton-in-Marsh. The victim recalled seeing a white taxi driving suspiciously near the property shortly before the break-in.
A further incident took place during the early hours of 22 May in Quenington, near Fairford. Construction tools were stolen from a farm building. CCTV footage from that night shows a white car of interest, this time without a taxi sign, but police are seeking to identify livery on the doors to determine any connection.
Police are urging anyone who saw the white taxi in Church Westcote on the night of 2 July to come forward, quoting incident 43 of 3 July. For information regarding the white car in Quenington on 22 May, reference incident 60 of 22 May. Reports can be submitted via the Gloucestershire Police website.
