Police arrest man after taxi driver threatened by knife in Banbury

Police have arrested a suspect after reports of a taxi driver being threatened at knifepoint in Banbury.
Police responded to a call yesterday morning at around 7.30am. The incident occurred on Broughton Road nearby the college in Banbury.
Police officers were able to seize a knife and arrest a male suspect thought to be connected to the incident.
A spokesperson from Thames Valley Police Cherwell said via social media: “This morning at roughly 07:30hrs we had a report that a male threatened a taxi driver with a knife on the Broughton Road Banbury by the College. As a result of immediate response by police we were able to arrest the suspect, seize the knife and the suspect currently remains in police custody.
“We are appealing for witnesses who may have been in the area at the time or may have ring doorbell footage.
