Police arrest man and woman after spate of taxi break ins across Grimsby area

A 28-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of theft from motor vehicles, in connection with a number of offences reported across the Grimsby area over the previous three weeks – including a number of taxis.

Both remain in custody at this time whilst enquiries continue.

Detective Inspector Scott Miller of Grimsby CID said: “These arrests have been made after a number of lines of enquiry were completed by our specialist and dedicated local teams. They demonstrate our continued commitment to tackling this type of offending.

“Whilst our investigations are continuing, we recognise the impact these types of offences have on both victims and the wider community and we will continue to be relentless in our approach to preventing and detecting crime, to make our communities safer and stronger.

“If anyone feels they have any information which may assist with our ongoing enquiries, please contact us on 101 quoting reference 23*5975. Alternatively, you can report anonymously by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
