Police slam private hire driver who was found to be carrying 4 different operator signage
A private hire driver has been slammed by officers from Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit, who found signage in the vehicle for four different private hire operators.
Officers called the driver's decision to carry multiple signage "unacceptable" and said it reduces "accountability" and presents a "safeguarding" risk.
Officers confirmed that the driver's licensing authority within the council have been notified and are investigating the incident further.
A spokesperson for the force said via their official Twitter account @DerbyshireRPU: "One driver who wanted the best of all worlds with magnetic signs for four different taxi operators, when only one is permitted.
"This is unacceptable, reduces accountability and presents a safeguarding risk. Council to investigate further."
