Police catch 'provisional licence holder' driving a London licensed minicab at Heathrow airport

Metropolitan Police Roads & Transport Cabs Unit team have reported a driver of a London licensed private hire vehicle who was waiting to pick up from Heathrow Airport despite only having a provisional licence.


The Cabs Unit team spent the day checking private hire driver and vehicle details. A total of 29 drivers underwent checks.

4 in total were reported for non-compliance issues, such as lack of private hire identification.

Roads & Transport MPS said @MPSRTPC: "Cabs Unit stopped this @TfLTPH PHV at Heathrow. Driver found to have a provisional licence & waiting to pick up a mate. Reported and vehicle collected by Hire Company.


"A further 28 PHVs were checked & 3 dealt with for non compliance issues such as no badge worn."
