Police investigate after Coventry taxi driver assaulted in violent attack

In a disturbing incident in Coventry, a taxi driver was severely assaulted by a passenger last Saturday night.


According to West Midlands Police, the attack occurred shortly after 9.30pm on 29 April, when a male passenger boarded the taxi at Coventry train station.

The journey, which was heading towards Bennetts Road South, took a violent turn just before its conclusion. The passenger assaulted the driver, striking him repeatedly in the back and chest while demanding money. The driver sustained injuries to his arm and chest but managed to escape from the man, who then fled the scene.


Authorities are urgently seeking to identify the man pictured in the CCTV images released, believing he holds critical information that could aid their investigation. The public is urged to come forward with any knowledge of the suspect by contacting West Midlands Police on 101 or via LiveChat, referencing crime number 20/446120/24.
