Police investigating collision with taxi near Lytham Festival injuring woman

Police officers have launched an investigation after a Mercedes taxi collided with a woman near Lytham Festival, resulting in injuries.

Lancashire Constabulary responded to a call at approximately 11.35pm on Friday 30 June, following a report of an accident on Blackpool Road, Ansdell.

The victim, a woman in her 50s who resides in Ansdell, suffered head and hand injuries in the incident. She was promptly transported to Royal Preston Hospital for medical treatment. The driver of the taxi, a man in his 40s from Blackpool, fortunately escaped without any injuries.

Authorities from Lancashire Constabulary are now appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the accident or possesses any relevant information to assist in their investigation. They are particularly interested in connecting with potential witnesses, drivers with dashboard-mounted camera footage, and homeowners with CCTV or ring doorbell footage.

Sgt Daniel Gunn, of Lancashire Police, said: “An investigation is underway after a serious collision between a car and pedestrian.

“We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened. We know a number of people were in the area walking home following last night’s concert at Lytham Festival – did you see what happened? Can you help us?

“I would encourage anyone with information to get in touch.”
