Police name man charged with causing the death of minicab driver by way of dangerous driving

Aiden King–Eeson, 25, of Haseley Road in Birmingham has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, aggravated vehicle taking, driving without a licence and driving without insurance.

Gurmit Singh Matharu, 54, of Basford, Nottingham passed away following a two car collision in Radford Road on Saturday 4 July.

Detective Sergeant Adam Cooper, who is investigating the incident, said: “This was a serious incident with tragic consequences.

“I would like to again ask the public not to share videos from this incident on social media. This is extremely distressing for Gurmit's family and could also jeopardise the investigation.”

King-Eeson will next appear at Notitngham Crown Court on Thursday 6 August.
