Police release image of man after taxi driver racially aggravated assault

Police in Morecambe are appealing to the public for information following an incident where taxi passengers racially abused and assaulted the driver.


Officers have a released an image of a man they wish to identify and speak to. He is described as white, mid-twenties, medium build and short dark coloured hair.

Sources say three men boarded the taxi on Dorrington Road. One of the men grabbed the driver's mask off his face and was racially abusive to the driver.


Morecambe Area Police said via social media: “We want to speak to the person pictured in connection with a racially aggravated assault where three males have entered a taxi on Dorrington Road and one of the males has assaulted the taxi driver by grabbing his mask off his face and being racially abusive to him.

“The male is described as white, mid-twenties, medium build, short dark coloured hair. Anyone with information is asked to contact 101 quoting the log reference: LC-20201219-0692.“
