Police Scotland appeal for taxi drivers' help following serious sexual assault in Fife

Police Scotland are appealing to cabbies for more information following a sexual assault on an 18-year woman in Fife.

Detectives are investigating the serious sexual assault which took place in Kelty at around 11.15pm on Monday 6 July.

The woman was found around Limepark Crescent and told officers that she was attacked inside what is believed to be a dark-coloured Vauxhall Vectra, which was seen in the area of Keltyhill Road just before 11pm.

The suspect is a man in his late 20s with a slim build and tanned complexion, dark hair and a short dark beard.

Detective Inspector Kelly McEwan said: “We’d like to thank members of the public who have assisted our investigation so far and continue to appeal for anyone who was in the area and may have seen something suspicious to please come forward.

“In particular, I would ask taxi, PHC drivers and motorists with dash cams to check their footage for the vehicle in question, as this information could prove vital in our enquiries.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 4470 of 6 July, 2020. Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where information can be given anonymously.
