Lancashire Constabulary are looking for a Blackpool taxi driver who may hold the key information to a rape investigation after driving the victim home.

Officers were called around 2.10am after a report that a woman in her 30s had been

raped by a man in the Dickson Road area.

After the attack the victim went in a taxi and was taken to an address close to the Forestgate area, near Stanley Park, where she told family who reported the incident to police.

The woman is being supported by officers and an investigation is underway. Enquiries are ongoing.

Det Sgt Chris Smith said: “We are particularly keen to speak to a taxi driver who took the woman to the address close the Forestgate area, near Stanley Park.

“If this was you, please come forward immediately as we believe you could help with our investigation.

“I must stress the driver is being treated as a witness and is not suspected of any crime.

“Officers are supporting the victim and we are conducting a number of enquiries to identify the offender.”
