Police seeking witnesses after Winchester taxi driver racially assaulted during late-night incident

A man has been arrested after a taxi driver was allegedly subjected to a racially aggravated assault in Winchester.
Police were called to Shepherds Row in Winnall at 10.55pm on Saturday 28 June. The incident prompted an immediate response, with officers detaining a male at the scene. He has since been released on police bail while investigations continue.
Officers believe the incident to be isolated and are now appealing for further information from the public. They are asking for any witnesses to come forward, especially anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage from the area at the time.
A spokesperson for Winchester Police confirmed the arrest and said enquiries are ongoing.
