Police warn taxi drivers targeted in Middlesbrough overnight thefts

Several taxis have been targeted in a spate of thefts across the Central and Park wards of Middlesbrough, according to Cleveland Police.
A man is being sought in connection with the incidents, which involved small amounts of cash being stolen from vehicles. The majority of offences are understood to have taken place overnight between Sunday 5 October and Monday 6 October.
Officers are reviewing CCTV footage and have stepped up high-visibility patrols in the affected areas during night-time hours.
Police have issued advice to drivers in response, urging them to remove valuables and small amounts of change from view and to double-check that vehicles are properly locked and windows shut when unattended.
