A ‘taxi driver’ was captured on police video walking into the CENTRAL RESERVATION of a motorway in Manchester to retrieve signage that had fallen from their vehicle.

North West Motorway Police watched in ‘disbelief’ as the driver of the vehicle described as a ‘taxi’ dodged traffic on the M67 to pick up the magnetic signs from the road surface.

The police handed the driver a Traffic Offence Report (TOR) for the ‘stupidity’ they had witnessed.

North West Motorway Police shared an image of the incident on social media.

A spokesperson for North West Motorway Police said: "Our ME41 spotted this taxi driver on M67 trying to retrieve his magnetic sign from the central reserve.

"Traffic Offence Report issued #disbelief #stupidity."
