Private hire driver brutally beaten by passenger who refused to pay the full fare
A private hire driver has been brutally attacked by a passenger who refused to pay for a fare in Burton.
The driver, who worked for local firm 43 Taxis, was left with multiple cuts and bruises to his body during the attack which took place during the early hours of Friday morning.
According to a spokesperson for the firm, the journey was to Stanton road, Burton on Trent.
The customer refused to pay the full fare and violently attacked the driver inside and outside the vehicle. The driver sustained multiple injuries and needed hospital treatment.
Further updates from the cab firm have confirmed that the offender who assaulted the driver is now in police custody.
