A private hire driver has had their vehicle seized after officers found that they did not have any insurance and didn't have their badge.

The driver was brought to the attention of officers when they were seen driving the wrong way down a one-way street.

A marked police car intercepted the silver Toyota Avensis, before undertaking roadside checks on the vehicle and driver.

As well as being found to be driving without insurance and their badge, officers said other offences were also being "looked at".

Nottingham's CPO Taxi Enforcement Team used their official Twitter account @cpo_taxi to highlight the incident.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Taxi driver [private hire driver] stopped going down one way street. No badge, no insurance.

"Vehicle seized. Also other offences being looked at."

Officers did not confirm which licensing authority the driver holds a licence with. TaxiPoint have approached the team to find out.
