A private hire driver has been jailed after he was caught on a North Yorkshire motorway with seven kilograms of cocaine in his vehicle.

Raj Seechurn was pulled over between junction 48 and 49 on the A1M on 14 May.

A search of the vehicle was carried out, where seven blocks of cocaine - each weighing approximately 1 kilo - were found in a panel compartment in the boot.

Two mobile phones were also found - one being of military-grade, also known as a 'burner' phone.

Seechurn, from Buckinghamshire, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine with the intent to supply.

As reported by Examiner Live, he was jailed for six-and-a-half-years by Judge Rodney Jameson QC at Leeds Crown Court.
