A private hire driver in Nottingham has been reported after taxi enforcement officers found four passengers travelling in the rear of the vehicle.

With only three seats available in the back of the vehicle for legal use, the driver was breaking the law allowing more to travel unsafely.

Officers reported that there were no seat belts being used by any of the passengers either.

The reporting officer said that while speaking to the offenders and issuing a report on the driver, one of the passengers started becoming abusive, which escalated when their partner came from a house to join in the abuse.

A spokesperson for the taxi enforcement team, @cpo_taxi, said: "Driving with 4 passengers in the back seat, no seat belts. PH driver reported, but customer decides it's unfair and abuses me.

"Partner came out the house to have a go too for trying to make you and your children travel safe."
