PROM CAR PROBLEMS: Three vehicles seized in Wolverhampton during taxi and private hire licensing checks

Wolverhampton Compliance Team joined West Midlands Police and DVSA to inspect vehicles taking students to their proms. Officers checked that the vehicles were insured and properly licensed.


Three vehicles were seized by police for having no insurance. Officers will report the drivers for further action.

A spokesperson for City of Wolverhampton Council Public Protection said the checks aimed to make sure student celebrations are safe and compliant with transport laws.


The spokesperson said: ”Wolverhampton Compliance Team out with West Midlands Police and DVSA checking vehicles taking students to their Proms, ensuring they are insured and licensed.


“3 vehicles seized by Police who are reporting for no insurance.”
