Devon and Cornwall Police Officers have shared images of their latest fleet car… a 180mph Lotus sportscar!

The Roads Crime Unit shared images of the vehicle via social media displaying the Lotus Evora GT 410 sport which can be bought for around £80,000.

The gun metal coloured Lotus has been wrapped in distinctive illuminous police markings and will be used at events to engage with the public, rather than chasing down criminals.

In a comment on a social media, a Devon and Cornwall Police Road Crime Unit spokesperson said: “It isn’t actually ours.

“It’s on loan from Lotus to draw the attention of petrol heads and engage with roads policing to discuss road safety.

“With us for 12 months before it moves to a different force. It’d be completely useless as a traffic car, nowhere for cones.”
