ROAD RAGE: Angry motorist threatens taxi driver with a knife after sounding his horn

A suspect has been arrested following a road rage incident that led to an angry motorist threatening a taxi driver with a knife.


The incident reportedly happened after the taxi driver sounded his horn at a BMW because it was sat stationary at a green light.

The BMW drove off and was followed by the taxi driver as they were going the same way.


A short time later, the BMW driver stopped in Albany Road, Sherwood Rise, and got out of his car. He then approached the taxi driver, before allegedly threatening him with a kitchen knife.

The incident happened shortly before 5.30pm on 17 May 2023 and a police investigation launched.

On Wednesday 31 May 2023, officers stopped a car believed to be involved in the incident. A lock knife was found inside the vehicle and a 49-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession a knife in a public place.


He has been bailed pending further inquiries.


PC Tom Dodge, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “While we have arrested a suspect our inquiries into the circumstances are very much ongoing.


“To assist us in our investigation we are urging anyone who saw what happened or anyone who may have recorded CCTV, dash-cam or mobile phone footage to please get in touch with us.”
