Second Sefton minicab driver found guilty of plying-for-hire outside Anfield Stadium in last month

A second private hire driver has been found guilty of illegally plying for hire outside Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium in the space of a month.
Liverpool City Council (LCC) attended court yesterday to give evidence against the Sefton licensed private hire driver who was caught illegally plying for hire outside Liverpool F.C’s Anfield Stadium last year.
The minicab driver was found guilty and handed 6 penalty points to his licence. The driver was also hit with fines and costs amounting to £1,332 to pay.
This conviction marks the second private hire driver to be found guilty of illegally plying outside Anfield Stadium in the space of a month.
On 24 January another Sefton licensed private hire driver pleaded guilty after being caught by LCC’s enforcement team.
On this occasion the driver was handed 8 penalty points to his licence which disqualified him from driving for six months under the totting up procedure.
The Sefton private hire driver was also hit with fines and costs totalling £330.
