‘SERIOUS CRASH’: Black cab crash on Piccadilly forces air ambulance to rush to scene

Perry Richardson

A black cab driver was involved in a 'serious crash' on London’s busy Piccadilly forcing an air ambulance to rush to the scene of the incident.

The crash occurred near Green Park Tube Station at the junction with Half Moon Street just after noon on Saturday 14 January.

According to traffic platform Inrix, the central London main road was shut for a period of time to allow an air ambulance to attend the incident.

Inrix said: "A4 Piccadilly in both directions closed, queueing traffic due to serious accident, a black cab involved between Green Park Station and Half Moon Street.

"Both sides of the road are now shut. The taxi is on the westbound side after The Ritz. The air ambulance has now left from Green Park."

The condition of the taxi driver is not yet known.
