Speeding unlicensed minibus driver acting as a taxi seized for operating without proper licence
A speeding and unlicensed minibus driver acting as a taxi was seized by police for operating without a proper licence.
According to a GMP Traffic spokesperson, the minibus was pulled over due to excessive speed on Great Ancoats Street yesterday. As officers questioned the driver, it became apparent that the vehicle was being used to pick up passengers in exchange for money, resembling a taxi operation. However, upon further investigation, it was revealed that the driver did not possess the correct licence or insurance, rendering the operation illegal.
To ensure compliance with traffic regulations and protect public safety, the minibus was seized by the police. The driver has been reported to authorities for operating without a licence and insurance.
A Greater Manchester Police Traffic spokesperson said: “This minibus was stopped on Great Ancoats Street due to excess speed.
“The driver stated he was not a taxi however when asked what he was doing stated picking people up for money. Driver did not have correct license or insurance. Vehicle seized driver reported.”
