Liverpool City Council (LCC) Licensing officers have reported a licensed taxi driver and a private hire vehicle driver for illegal tyres after the latest day of enforcement.

The council shared details and photos of the two tyres uncovered just 15 minutes apart from each other on 10 September.

A silver licensed hackney taxi was found first with a heavily worn tyre. The LCC licensed cabbie was reported and was also handed a suspension notice.

The second vehicle, a Sefton licensed private hire vehicle, was found 15 minutes later with another super slick illegally worn tyre. The driver of the vehicle was also slapped with a suspension notice and was reported to their licensing authority.

A spokesperson from LCC said via social media: “A LCC HCV and a Sefton PHV have both been found to have an illegal tyre today. Drivers will be reported and suspension notices have been issued.”
