Sussex Police hails Brighton taxi compliance improvements

Sussex Police have hailed the improved levels of taxi compliance after checks were carried out in Brighton.


Officers carried out licensing checks on taxi vehicles and drivers on Wednesday 28 September, as part of ongoing enforcement operations in the area.

The commercial vehicle unit checked a total of 48 vehicles throughout the day. One of those vehicles received a prohibition notice, whilst three others were handed more minor notices.

A Sussex Road police spokesperson said via social media: “The commercial vehicle unit in Brighton today checking the safety of taxis for the public with taxi officers. 48 taxis stopped and only 1 immediate Prohibition, 3 delayed prohibitions issued. massive improvement from our last check.”
