Taxi driver attacked by his passengers while driving in Crawley


Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault on a taxi driver in Crawley.


Officers were called around 9.15pm on Monday, 27 April, after a taxi driver was assaulted and suffered facial injuries.

The taxi driver picked up two women and a man in Basildon Way, Bewbush, just after 9pm and began to drive towards Crawley town centre. Along the way, the driver was punched in the face and the vehicle was stopped in the Byrd Road area where the three passengers exited the vehicle.

Both of the women were described as being between 18 and 22-years' old, white, around 5’ 6”, of slim build and with blonde hair. One of the women was wearing a black jacket, white t-shirt and black trousers.


The man was described as mixed race, aged between 18 and 21, 5’ 5”, of average build and with black short hair.
