Taxi driver suffers ‘potentially life-threatening’ injuries in Huddersfield crash

A taxi driver suffered potentially life-threatening injuries as part of a collision in Huddersfield on Saturday morning.


A black and white Toyota Prius taxi was involved in a collision with a Honda Civic Type R on Wakefield Road.

According to police sources, the taxi driver received ‘potentially life-threatening injuries’. Officers from West Yorkshire Police (WYP) are appealing to the public for anyone who may have witnessed the incident.

A WYP spokesperson said: “The incident happened shortly after 12.15am on Wakefield Road and involved two vehicles, a Honda Civic Type R and a black and white Toyota Prius taxi. The Honda was travelling along Wakefield Road in the direction of Denby Dale when it collided with the Toyota which was edging out of a junction close to a Tesco Express store.

"The collision resulted in the driver of the taxi suffering potentially life-threatening injuries."
