Taxi drivers ignoring PCNs risk licensing action from TfL, expert warns

Taxi drivers who ignore Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) or fail to update home addresses risk licensing action from Transport for London (TfL), warns expert.
Heather, a taxi driver renowned for her expertise in PCNs, issued the stark warning to drivers who disregard their obligations. Speaking on social media platform X, where she is known as @Hrawli, Heather highlighted the risks of ignoring PCNs and failing to update addresses on licensing records.
“I know of two drivers that park anywhere and commit moving traffic contraventions with impunity,” she said. “They ignore all PCNs. Most are at the bailiff stage and addresses aren’t correct.”
Heather shared an excerpt from a TfL document clarifying that while drivers are not required to report PCNs or parking tickets that do not result in penalty points, repeated offences could lead to serious consequences.
The TfL guidance states: “If we become aware that you are getting frequent PCNs and/or parking tickets, we may take licensing action against you. This is because we expect all licensed drivers to behave responsibly.”
The warning serves as a reminder for drivers to ensure their records, particularly addresses linked to their licences, are accurate. Failing to do so not only risks escalating PCNs to bailiff enforcement but could also trigger direct action from TfL.
Heather added on social media: “TfL will take action if your address is not up to date on your licence.”
