TAXI ENFORCEMENT: Several illegally worn tyres found on taxis in Redditch

A taxi driver’s licence was suspended and three others were reported after a night of enforcement checks in Redditch uncovered several illegal tyres.


Police officers checked eight taxis working in the area on 23 December. That followed similar enforcement activity conducted the night before which saw a further 20 vehicles checked.

A West Mercia Operations Patrol Unit in Worcestershire spokesperson said: “Another evening of taxi licencing checks with Worcestershire Regulatory Services, this time in Redditch.

“8 taxi vehicles inspected. 3 found with defective tyres (drivers reported), 1 prohibited due to condition, another vehicle's licence suspended by Taxi licencing & 2 others with minor defects.“
