Taxi insurance specialists Acorn Group receives Great Place to Work certification for third year

Acorn Group has received Great Place to Work Certification for the third consecutive year, following feedback from 76% of its employees.
The Formby-based group said the recognition came during a period of commercial growth. Its gross written premium reached a record £803 million in 2025, and it now employs more than 2,000 people.
Acorn serves more than 500,000 live policyholders through Acorn Insurance, Carrot, Motorcade, Briefly and Street Cover, as well as Granite Underwriting. In 2025, it was ranked 25th in the UK’s Super Large Company category of the Great Place to Work list.
The certification is based on employee feedback and workplace experience. Acorn said it had continued to invest in its workplaces and colleague support as the business grew, including the multi-million-pound redevelopment of Atlantic Pavilion at Liverpool’s Royal Albert Dock.
Other initiatives cited by the group include community volunteering opportunities, an employee rewards programme, mental health support and Learning & Development pathways.
“Achieving Great Place to Work Certification for the third consecutive year is something we’re incredibly proud of,” said Daniel Keating, a director at Acorn Group. “This recognition is particularly meaningful because it comes directly from our colleagues. As we continue to grow, we’re committed to creating an environment where people feel valued, supported and empowered to succeed. Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and this achievement belongs to them.”
The group said its technology graduate programme was one example of its investment in career development. Six graduates joined the programme earlier this year.
Patryk Kuta, one of the graduates, said he had felt valued from the start and highlighted the responsibility given to participants. “For graduates looking to accelerate their development, work on exciting projects and contribute to solutions that make a real impact, I would highly recommend a scheme like this,” he said.
