Taxi passenger dies following M6 collision as police appeal for witnesses

Warwickshire Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision on the northbound slip road at Junction 3 of the M6 involving a taxi and a black Mercedes.


The collision happened at around 5pm on Tuesday 26 May. According to police, a female passenger travelling in the taxi, aged in her 60s, suffered serious injuries in the incident and later died in hospital.

Officers have launched an investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision. No further details regarding the drivers involved or any other injuries have been released at this stage.


In a public appeal, Warwickshire Police said: “Sadly, a passenger in the taxi, a woman in her 60s, suffered serious injuries and later died in hospital.”


The force is now seeking information from anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have relevant dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident.


Investigators are particularly keen to hear from motorists who were travelling near the northbound Junction 3 slip road shortly before or after 5pm.
