Detectives investigating an assault in St Helens have issued an image of a man who may have information to help with their enquiries.

At around 12.05am on Wednesday 29 December, the police received a report that a man had been assaulted by an unknown male while queueing at the taxi rank on Baldwin Street.

Emergency services attended and the victim received treatment from paramedics for injuries to his face.

CCTV and witness enquiries have been carried out to identify the man responsible, and detectives have issued images of a man they believe could assist with their investigation.

Detective Inspector Alyson Keenan said: “We think the man pictured may have vital information to help our enquiries so if you know him, please come forward.

“If you recognise him, or these images jog your memory about any suspicious behaviour you may have seen, please do let us know.

“While several months have passed since the incident, any information you hold could be vital to our enquiries so please come forward, directly or anonymously and we will do the rest.”

You can pass on any information via DM @MerPolCC, ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ on Facebook or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 with reference 21000894544.
