Taxi repair finance firm Bumper has introduced a new online pre-approval service to help cabbies finance their repairs.

Since 2021, Bumper has helped UK taxi drivers fund repairs and servicing by spreading the cost into 3, 6 or 9 interest-free monthly instalments. The payment solution has offered drivers financial flexibility whilst keeping their taxis on the road and providing a vital service to the public.

To make things even easier, Bumper has introduced pre-approvals online. This enables drivers to search for taxi specific repair centres and apply for interest-free finance of up to £5,000 on the Bumper website.

Taxi drivers can now enter their registration and postcode, select a local partner garage and apply for a pre-approved Credit Limit with no impact on their credit score. Once approved, drivers can book an appointment with their chosen garage and when they’re ready to pay, present their unique Bumper Code from their confirmation email.

Bumper works with a range of taxi specific partner garages including well-known companies like KPM and LEVC Central. Repairs and servicing are available on all taxi models including, electric TXEs, diesel TX4s and Mercedes Vitos.

Aidan, Head of Cross Sector Development at Bumper, said: “Speaking with drivers, one of the biggest concerns when owning and running your own taxi is unexpected repair bills, taxis need to be kept on the road. It might be a new gearbox, perhaps an engine rebuild or just a service, we can help drivers with cash flow by spreading the cost, interest-free. With online pre-approvals, drivers can have complete peace of mind that their taxi can be kept on the road.

“Bumper has big plans with more partner garages added daily.“
