TfL minicab driver found guilty of no insurance and false representation

A London private hire driver was found guilty of fraud by false representation and for driving with no insurance.

The court result on Thursday 31 October, saw the minicab driver sentenced to a community order and fined £585. The driver was also disqualified from driving for six months.

Earlier in the week, a further Transport for London (TfL) licensed minicab driver was found guilty of incorrectly positioning their mobile phone cradle.

According to Met Police sources, the driver was not in a position to have full view of the road after being stopped with a mobile phone in a cradle stuck to the windscreen directly above the steering wheel.

The driver received three points to their licence and was fined £480.

Both court results come via an ongoing Metropolitan Police Roads and Transport ‘CabsUnit’ operation.
