Sherbet Electric Taxis have announced its partnership with location technology, what3words. what3words will enable new and existing Sherbet customers to provide more accurate location data and help Sherbet deliver a safe and sustainable service to Londoners.

Passengers can now enter a three word what3words address for their pick up or drop-off location, meaning they no longer have to enter long and sometimes unreliable street addresses.

what3words is an easy way to identify precise locations. Every 3 metre square has been given a unique combination of three words: a what3words address. So, for example, ///cafe.track.logo will take you to the easiest pick-up point outside of Charing Cross.

It is hoped that the shift will make moving around London easier and simpler and Sherbet drivers will no longer have to waste time looking for the exact pick up or drop-off locations. Whether it’s a specific door, shopping mall entrance, street corner or park gate, Sherbet passengers can now enter what3words addresses to enable the fastest possible route planning.

what3words solves many of the frustrations that surround inaccurate and inconsistent addressing. Pins that drop in the middle of the building make it hard to know which is the correct points, mistakes can be easy to make when typing a street address, and often POI’s can return multiple results. what3words’ built-in AutoSuggest feature helps users to spot input mistakes such as typos and suggests the correct what3words address. what3words input will be available in the Sherbet Ride app.

Chris Sheldrick, Co-founder and CEO of what3words, said: “Sherbet Ride is providing an incredible service to Londoners. It’s fast, convenient and its UI makes it easy to use. The addition of what3words will make that experience even better, as passengers will know they’re arriving exactly where they need to be, without the need for extra directions.”

Asher Moses, Founder and CEO of Sherbet Electric Taxis, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with what3words, a location technology that will enhance the experience for both Sherbet passengers and drivers, while helping the business drive efficiency.”
