Updated: May 22, 2023

Birmingham Transport Police (BTP) and Birmingham City Council joined forces for an evening of taxi and private hire vehicle (PHV) enforcement.

The taxi operation took place at the busy Birmingham New Street train station on Thursday 18 May.

During the exercise, officers handed out ‘tickets and warnings’ whilst providing education to licensed drivers.

A spokesperson for BTP said: “Successful Taxi operation at Birmingham New Street this evening for our Response and Proactive NPT.

“We were working alongside Birmingham City Council Licensing and West Midlands Police taxi enforcement officers.

“Tickets and warnings issued along with lots of education for drivers.”
