Liverpool City Council, in collaboration with Merseyside Police, has begun an enforcement campaign targeting private vehicles parked illegally at the Victoria Street taxi rank.

Owners of unauthorised vehicles have been warned through distributed leaflets that their cars are at risk of being towed or fined. The council’s licensing spokesperson confirmed that this enforcement action has now commenced.

The initiative aims to ensure that taxi ranks are reserved exclusively for taxis, as per regulations.

A Liverpool City Council (LCC) Licensing spokesperson said: “LCC Licensing and Merseyside Police have recently been leafleting private/unauthorised vehicles parked on Victoria St Taxi Rank, advising the owners that their cars may be towed away or issued with a Parking Ticket.

“This course of action has now started. Taxi Ranks are for Taxis.”
