TURN UP THE RADIO! London taxi industry starts £100,000 PR campaign enticing passengers back in cabs

A new London black taxi industry PR campaign launched yesterday on radio in a bid to entice passengers back into cabs as lockdown measures ease.

The campaign, lead by the Licensed Taxi Drivers’ Association (LTDA), announced that the first part of the campaign, running throughout July, will feature on radio station LBC. According to LTDA sources, nearly 6,000 slots have been booked and will run throughout the popular 24-hours that the station broadcasts.

There will be two different adverts based on the same theme, with more advertising planned in the months ahead dependant on the number of people returning to work.

Further adverts in August and September could feature both on radio, digital billboards and on social media platforms.

The whole campaign is likely to cost around £100,000.

Steve McNamara, General Secretary of the LTDA, said: “Today has seen the launch or our radio adverts on LBC, with 6,000 slots split between the two ads across the day and night for the whole of this month.

“We will be reviewing the coverage, possibly taking in more radio stations in August and September to coincide with the scheduled Social Media advertising campaign on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.”
