Liverpool City Council (LCC) Licensing officers have reported two private hire vehicles after a night of enforcement in the city centre.

LCC shared details of two incidents involving minicabs on Saturday night.

Officers found one Knowsley licensed private hire vehicle (PHV) incorrectly waiting on a licensed taxi rank. Officials from LCC also found the PHV licence plate was not affixed to the car correctly.

The driver was reported to their licensing authority.

In the second incident LCC licensing officers found an illegally worn tyre on a Stockport licensed PHV.

The driver was reported and stopped from carrying any further passengers.

A spokesperson from LCC said via social media: “Knowsley PHV found waiting on hackney rank. On further inspection was found to have plate not affixed to vehicle. Driver will be reported.”

In an earlier post LCC said: “Stockport PHV inspected tonight and found to have an illegal tyre.

“Driver will be reported and vehicle prohibited from carrying passengers.”
