Uber appoint new Safety Manager For UK who worked at Transport for London for nearly 12 years

Simon Bradbury has joined Uber as Head of Safety for the UK and Ireland. He moves from Transport for London (TfL) where he worked for almost 12 years in active travel, road safety, delivery planning and latterly as senior safety strategy manager (road risk).

Bradbury’s history with TfL runs back to November 2008, when he was appointed the 2012 Games Smarter Travel Manager. He worked in this role until April 2010.

He then moved to TfL‘s new building - The Palestra - where he was assigned as Principal Delivery Mananger. Bradbury remained in this role until March 2013.

The next role Bradbury took on was Senior Strategy and Planning Manager for Road Safety. He worked this job for seven years until February 2020.

From February 2020 to June 2020, Bradbury worked as TfL’s Senior Safety Strategy Manager for Road Risk.

Bradury has now joined ride-sharing giant Uber, who are yet to establish a full operating licence in the capital. Uber are currently working in London while they appeal and challenge Transport for London’s decision to refuse them a licence based on safety concerns.
