Veezu has expanded its West Midlands private hire operations after acquiring Triple 20 Taxi Cars Ltd, the company behind the Triple 20 Taxis and Brookfleet Cars brands in Dudley and Sandwell.

The deal extends Veezu’s regional presence beyond its existing operations across Birmingham, Solihull, Wolverhampton, Shrewsbury and Telford. No financial terms for the acquisition were disclosed in the company’s announcement.

Triple 20 Taxis and Brookfleet Cars collectively partner with around 270 self-employed drivers, providing local private hire journeys, airport transfers and corporate travel. Brookfleet Cars has operated in the area for more than 50 years after being established in Blackheath in 1973.

The acquisition gives Veezu a stronger position across Dudley and Sandwell at a time when transport infrastructure in the area is also changing. The company pointed to the £295 million West Midlands Metro extension, which is being tested ahead of trams reaching Dudley for the first time.

Airport connectivity also forms part of the potential market for the enlarged operation. According to figures included in the Veezu announcement, Birmingham Airport handled a record 13 million passengers during 2024/25 and is forecast to approach 14 million passengers in 2025/26.

Existing Brookfleet Cars and Triple 20 Taxis passengers will continue to be able to use the established telephone booking numbers. They will also gain access to Veezu’s app, which provides real-time vehicle tracking, address search, advance bookings and payment options including cash, card, Apple Pay and Google Wallet.

The acquisition adds to Veezu’s continuing consolidation of private hire operations across England and Wales. Founded in Wales in 2013, the company says it now completes more than 25 million rides annually, operates across hundreds of towns and cities and is licensed by 63 local authorities.

Veezu also states that its driver-partners operate as independent businesses and are not employees or workers of the company. The press release says more than 20,000 drivers partnered with Veezu during 2025.

Jon Martin, Managing Director at Veezu, said: “Triple 20 Taxis and Brookfleet Cars are highly respected local brands with strong ties to communities across Dudley and Sandwell. We are delighted to welcome them into our West Midlands network as we continue to expand our series of local transport hubs across the UK.

“This next joint chapter means even better support for people’s travel needs around the clock, bringing together the trusted local service people know and enjoy, now supported by Veezu’s technology and wider network.”

The deal means two established West Midlands private hire brands now sit within Veezu’s wider operation, while retaining the existing booking channels familiar to local passengers.
