A vehicle has been seized and the driver reported after roadside checks revealed the driver was not insured on the policy and only had a provisional licence.

Officers also suspect that the driver may have been offering an illegal "taxi service" and had passengers on board.

Officers for Warwickshire Police said the driver was planning to drive his passengers home on the motorway despite not holding a full driver's licence.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Suspected illegal taxi service. Driver not named on the policy, not insured and planning to drive all occupants home on the motorway.

"Whilst only having a provisional licence. Vehicle now removed."

Officers did not confirm which licensing authority the vehicle is registered with and if it was a taxi and/or private hire vehicle.
