Welsh taxi driver assaulted and robbed of cash after requesting journey payment

South Wales Police are investigating the robbery of a taxi driver in the Llanrumney area of Cardiff.
At approximately, 11.35pm on Tuesday 14 July a blue Ford Galaxy taxi was flagged down by three males in Burham Avenue near the medical centre.
They requested they be taken to the docks area of Cardiff and then onto Canton.
When the 48-year-old driver stopped his vehicle in Ball Road to request payment to continue the journey, he was assaulted and robbed of cash.
The suspects made off in the general direction of Burham Avenue.
