Wheely launches Family Accounts allowing members to share chauffeur bookings and payments

Luxury chauffeur platform Wheely has launched Family Accounts, allowing members to extend their membership privileges and a shared payment method to family members, partners, household staff and family offices.
The new feature allows an eligible Wheely member to invite up to six people to their account. Those users can then book journeys independently, while payments are charged centrally to the account owner.
Account holders retain visibility over journey history and spending through the Wheely app, as well as control over who has access to the account. The arrangement removes the need for members to share payment card details or organise individual bookings on another person’s behalf.
Wheely said the feature has also been designed for family offices and households where travel arrangements and expenses are managed by staff. A nominated administrator, such as a Chief of Staff or Head of Family Office, can oversee journeys, receipts and expenditure while allowing individual users to make their own bookings.
The launch broadens Wheely’s approach to delegated chauffeur bookings. Members could already arrange and pay for other people’s journeys through its Book for Another function, shared payment cards and Wheely for Business, but Family Accounts combines user access, payments and journey oversight within one account.
The feature can also be used alongside Wheely’s Kids class, which uses Mercedes-Benz V-Class and EQV vehicles equipped with certified child seats and space for wheelchairs. This could allow parents, carers and nannies within the same Family Account to arrange children’s journeys without separately managing payment arrangements.
Invited users can access membership services including Wheely Luxe, Wheely SUV, Wheely Concierge and Chauffeur For A Day, subject to availability in the relevant market.
Anton Chirkunov, CEO and Founder of Wheely, said: “Our members expect exceptional service not only for themselves, but for the people around them. Family Accounts gives them a simple way to extend their Wheely privileges to family, partners and staff, while retaining visibility and control over how the account is used.
“For family offices in particular, that means the people responsible for managing a household’s finances can oversee journeys and payments centrally, while ensuring everyone they look after has access to the same standard of service.”
Family Accounts is available to Wheely members using the latest version of its iOS and Android apps. The company said the service is available in cities including London, New York, Paris and Dubai, with additional users invited by phone number.
