WHERE’S THE TREAD? Suspended minicab driver admits last checking horror tyres ‘two months’ ago

A Wirral private hire driver has been suspended after licensing officials discovered two heavily worn rear tires on the vehicle.

Officers from Liverpool City Council Licensing found the vehicle during a routine vehicle check yesterday.

The reported driver told officers that they had last checked the minicab’s tyres TWO MONTHS ago.

A Liverpool City Council Licensing spokesperson said: “A Wirral PHV was suspended this evening after Licensing Officers discovered both the rear tyres to be in this condition. The driver said he last inspected the tyres 2 months ago!

“Consequently, he will be reported for the offence.

“Think safety first and check your tyres regularly.”
